Brief

AirLearn, Unacademy's language learning platform, was facing a challenge of declining user engagement and completion rates over time. A detailed analysis of user behavior highlighted the need for sustained motivation to drive better retention and learning outcomes. Inspired by the success of personalized features in apps like Spotify, we designed and implemented a Monthly Recap feature. This feature aimed to provide users with personalized insights, progress highlights, and achievable goals to boost their engagement and satisfaction.

Some basic stats

• Daily Active Users (DAUs): 5,911 (average)

  • Lesson Completion Percentage (24 hours): 85.2%

The Monthly Recap feature included:


  • Progress Highlights: Personalized statistics on lessons completed, streaks maintained, and time spent learning.

  • Gamification Elements: Badges for milestones like completing streaks or surpassing monthly learning goals.

  • Future Goals: AI-driven suggestions for setting achievable targets for the next month.

  • Comparison Metrics: Insights into how users performed compared to their previous months or peers in similar learning stages.
